Following the Tradition: Celebrating the Artisans of the Contemporary Longrifle Association

Following the Tradition features hundreds of full-color photographs celebrating the beauty, artistry and craftsmanship of the artisans of the Contemporary Longrifle Association. Almost 600 photos of firearms and accoutrements of the American frontier period illustrate the excellence of these contemporary artisans. ABOUT THE COVER: Nechasin, pronounced (nay-Cha-seen), means "to be watchful" in the Lenape-Delaware language. A 21st century sculpture of an 18th century culture created by Frank and Lally House. This mixed media sculpture is a composite of carved wood covered with mosaic bone and ivory. The body is of willow bough framework coverd with cotton batting and linen. The figure, clothing, personal articles and accoutrements exhibit individuality, yet the work of each artist is in harmony, perfectly blending their distinctive creative techniques.
